Maymont Park is a 100 acre Gilded Age Victorian estate donated to the City of Richmond by Major James H. Dooley, and his wife Sarah. Upon their deaths, they bequeathed their estate to the city, whereupon the city has turned Maymont into a showplace, historical museum, petting zoo, and exotic landscaping showcase. Maymont is not to be missed.
